IHC ADVENTURES

Powered by Camp IHC

Overview

IHC Adventures is an all-inclusive 4 day outdoor adventure camp for kids hosted at one of the top summer camps in America - located just two hours outside New York City in North East Pennsylvania. Our experienced team will help spark and harness your child’s curiosity for all things adventure through an incredible adventure program and next level facilities.

The days will be spent actively learning and practicing a wide array of outdoor adventure disciplines, with hands on instruction, social learning and play in each area. Kids will participate in groups and will create incredible friendships throughout the week.

The Experience

The Outdoor Adventure Camp experience centers around 4 key areas:

Vertical Terrain (Rock Climbing, Rappelling, Bouldering, Ropes Course)

Trail Adventures (Mountain Biking, Backpacking, Trail Running, Hiking)

Water Skills (Open Water Swim, Canoeing, Kayaking, Paddle-boarding)

Outdoor Living Skills (Fire Building, Backcountry Cooking, Shelter Building)

Over the course of the week we will factor all four of these areas into the overall camp program. Campers will also have the opportunity to focus their attention on a tailored training regiment for a specific area.

Through these activities, we will teach campers how to deal with real life situations by instilling in them the importance of discipline, consistency, goal setting, respect, team work, responsibilities, accountability, and compassion.

Personalized Teaching

IHC Adventures continues to work with outdoor instructors who have a wealth of real life experience. More importantly, however, all our instructors are excited and passionate about working with children.  Our instructors work toward creating a space where each and every camper feels both comfortable and challenged.

Skill Appropriate Levels

Whether your camper is a beginner or more advanced, our program welcomes a wide range of abilities and experiences. We ensure each camper has the required personalized training to help inspire them to go further.

Fun & Safe

At IHC Adventures we take pride in providing the tools to prepare our campers for new challenges through instilling the importance of work ethics, discipline, consistency, goal setting, respect, team work, responsibilities, accountability, and compassion.

  • 1. Vertical Terrain

Whether you are a beginner who wants to gain the confidence and skills to start climbing on your own, or an experienced climber who wants to push harder , our program will be tailored for you. We focus on a building a strong foundation of rope management and belay techniques necessary to safely get off the ground. Once we go vertical, we focus on footwork, body position, and strength. Campers will have the opportunity to test themselves on some of the 20+ on site challenge course elements. The campers will also visit local boulders and crags where they will get to transfer their new skills to real rock.

  • 2. Trail Adventures

IHC Adventure campers will have access to over 7 miles of maintained single track trails spread across 400 acres. We will utilize this terrain to help campers develop their skills either on foot or on a bike. We will teach campers how to be prepared for anything- from a short day hike, to planning and packing for an overnight backpacking trip. Our adventure guides will set you up with a mountain bike, and get any level of rider off the road and onto the trails- where everything else gets left behind.

  • 3. Water Skills

At our outdoor adventure camp, we want campers to not only develop skills on land, but also on and in the water. Our heated 8 lane short course pool and freshwater lake provide a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to become stronger swimmers and paddlers. Swim instruction in the pool can lead to more advanced open water swims, biathlons, and triathlons. If you prefer to be on the water as opposed to in it, our guides will teach you how to Sail, Canoe, Kayak and SUP and we’ll put your paddling skills to the test by taking a day trip down the Delaware River.

  • 4. Outdoor Living Skills

Regardless of your chosen adventure, there will always be one thing in common - lots of time spent outdoors. Armed with useful tips and tricks this time spent outside can become far more enjoyable. Our guides will teach campers how to wear proper clothing for all day comfort, make fires to stay warm, pitch a tent or a tarp to stay dry, and how to cook a delicious meal that will refuel the body for another amazing day.

Mark Tjaden - Adventure Director

“As an outdoor adventure director, I firmly believe in the transformative power of nature-based experiences for kids. Whether it's hiking through rugged terrain, kayaking down a river, or sleeping under the stars, these experiences help children develop confidence, resilience, and a deep appreciation for the natural world. Our programs are designed to challenge kids both physically and mentally, fostering teamwork and leadership skills along the way. Watching kids conquer their fears and push themselves beyond what they thought was possible is incredibly rewarding, and I'm honored to be a part of their outdoor adventure journey.”
